LANSING, Mich. – Senator Michael D. MacDonald has secured state funding in the approved fiscal year 2022 budget to support families ’addiction awareness, information and recovery services against narcotics in Macomb County.
“A key part of winning the battle against drug abuse is removing the stigma associated with addiction and encouraging more people fighting abuse or addiction to seek help,” said MacDonald, R municipality. -Macomb. “This state funding will allow narcotics families to expand their excellent work through compassion and evidence-based services to help those suffering from addiction.”
In the Senate Department of Health and Human Services section of Bill 82, the overall omnibus budget for fiscal year 2022 is $ 4 million for families against narcotics to raise awareness of narcotics and provide services to people who suffer from addiction.
Founded in Fraser in 2007, Families Against Narcotics (FAN) is a community-based organization for those seeking recovery, those in recovery, family members affected by addiction, and community supporters.
One of its major programs is Hope Not Handcuffs, an initiative aimed at bringing together law enforcement and community organizations to find viable treatment options for people seeking help reducing heroin addiction, drugs with recipe and alcohol.
